1. Information about the data processing

The RIDA®SMART APP can be used to test food for mycotoxin concentrations and to manage these results.

By using the app, we process personal data about you. Personal data is any information related to an identified or identifiable natural person. R-Biopharm cares about the protection of your privacy, therefore we would like to provide the following information to inform you which personal data is processed when using the RIDA®SMART APP.

You can retrieve this privacy policy at any time by clicking the button “Privacy policy” within the app.

As soon as you use the app, certain information is automatically processed. In the following we have specified which personal data are processed exactly:

3. Information that is automatically collected

In the context of your use of the app, we automatically collect certain data that is necessary for the usage. This includes: The IP address of the requesting device, the date & time of access, the name and URL of the accessed file.

These data are automatically transmitted to us and temporarily stored for a period of 12 months.

This data is collected and processed for the purpose of enabling the use of the RIDA® SMART APP (connection establishment), to permanently guarantee system security and stability, to enable technical administration of the network infrastructure and optimization of the RIDA® SMART APP offer, as well as for internal statistical purposes. The IP address is only evaluated in case of attacks on our network infrastructure and for statistical purposes.This data processing is justified by the fact that the processing is necessary for the fulfilment of the contract between you as the person concerned and R-Biopharm as the provider, in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) GDPR, for the use of the App. In addition, we have a justified interest in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR in being able to guarantee the functionality and error-free operation of the app.

4. Creation of an user account (registration) and login

To activate the voucher card you have purchased, you first have to register on our website During the registration process the following data will be collected from you: Voucher code, first & last name, company name, country and your e-mail address. In addition, you will have to assign a password for your future user account. Optionally, you can also provide the following information: Phone number, position in the company and the city where your company is located.

After registration, the app will be made available to you as a download for your smartphone.

To activate RIDA® SMART APP on your smartphone, you need to enter your e-mail address, self-assigned password, voucher code and country again. This data is collected by us as part of a multi-stage authentication process to verify the authenticity of your data and prevent potential misuse.

Furthermore, we use the above data to authenticate you when you log in and to respond to requests to reset your password. Your data will also be used to verify your authorization to manage the user account, to enforce the terms of use of the app and all rights and obligations associated with it, and to get in contact with you in order to send you technical or legal notices, updates, security messages or other messages concerning the management of the user account.

You can delete your data or your entire user profile at any time. This can be done by using the corresponding option in your user profile.

The data processing is carried out for the fulfilment of the contract concluded with you according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) GDPR, as well as to guarantee the functionality and error-free operation of the app based on our legitimate interest according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR.

5. Usage of the app

Within the app you can test food for mycotoxin concentrations and manage the corresponding results. To use the full range of functions of the app, it requires the following authorizations:

  • Internet access & Bluetooth: Is required to send test results to your e-mail address(es) / printer(s) and to activate the RIDA®SMART APP on your smartphone.
  • Access to photos/media & file system: Required to store content/photos.
  • Camera: Required to scan the QR code on the test strip and to take photos or videos.

The processing and and usage of the collected data takes place for the fulfilment of the contract between you as a customer and R-Biopharm AG according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) GDPR.

6. Data transfer

If you provide personal data to us, it will only be passed on to third parties if this is necessary for processing the contractual relationship or if another legal reason justifies the passing on of the data. However, we provide certain services with the cooperation of service providers. We have carefully selected these service providers and have taken appropriate measures to protect your personal data.

For the provision of the app we rely on the following service providers, who may have access to your personal data:

  • App developers
  • Hosting service provider

If the registered office of a service provider is outside the European Union or the European Economic Area, a transfer to a third country takes place. With these service providers, data protection agreements in accordance with the legal requirements for establishing an appropriate level of data protection are contractually established and appropriate guarantees are agreed upon.

7. Cookies

The RIDA®SMART APP uses cookies. Cookies are small text files that are stored in the device memory of your mobile device and assigned to the mobile app you use. Cookies allow R-Biopharm to receive certain information, such as the browser you are currently using. Cookies cannot execute programs or transfer viruses to your mobile device. They are used to make mobile apps more user-friendly and effective overall.

This mobile app uses the following types of cookies, whose scope and functionality are explained below:

– Transient cookies
– Persistent cookies

Transient cookies are automatically deleted when you close our mobile app. This includes in particular the session cookies. Session cookies store a so-called session ID, which can be used to assign various requests to your mobile app. This allows your mobile device to be recognized when you use our mobile app again. The session cookies are deleted when you log out or close the app.

Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a specified period of time, which may vary depending on the cookie. You can configure the settings of your mobile operating system and the app to your liking and, for example, refuse to accept third-party cookies or all cookies. Please note that you may not be able to use all functions of our mobile app in this case.

The legal basis for data processing using cookies is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR.

8. Safety

R-Biopharm uses suitable technical and organizational security measures to protect your data against accidental or deliberate manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction or unauthorized access by third parties. Our security measures are continuously improved in accordance with the latest technological developments.

9. Storage duration and deletion of data

The personal data collected or recorded by R-Biopharm for the execution of the contract will be stored until the expiry of the statutory storage obligation and deleted thereafter, unless R-Biopharm is obliged to store the data for a longer period of time in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c) GDPR due to storage and documentation obligations under tax and commercial law (from the German commercial code – HGB, Criminal Code – StGB or tax code – AO) or the customer has consented to storage beyond this in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR.
